Christmas is a great time of the year. There’s the great family stuff, but also great presents (most of the time). This year was no exception, and I got one of the greatest presents I have ever recieved. A Zune HD.
Even after having my Zune HD for slightly over 24 hours, I absolutely love of. It is the best portable media player I have ever used. I am even typing this blog post on the device’s web browser, which is incredible as well. And the auto-correct feature is a lifesaver! Well, it hasn’t saved my life, but you know what I mean.
On to the topic of New Year Resolutions, I’m setting a goal to do blog posts more often. I sometimes look back at my number of previous posts, and see the measly number of them. I should do them much more often.
Now that I can do posts from anywhere I have a wifi connection, I’m planning on doing them more often.
Also, feel free to brag about what gifts you recieved in the comments!

I felt like doing something completely percussive, with zero pitch-based elements. I wanted something with lots of big drums, but still some smaller stuff thrown in. So, I made Dynasty of Drums. It rolls off the tongue quite nicely, say you not? Have a listen:
Dynasty of Drums
This was entirely made with Stormdrum 2. I hope you enjoyed it!

Sometimes I just get the random urge to write something different than anything I’ve done before. That often means using instruments I rarely use. Such as ethnic flutes, and electronic soundscape pads. It’s quite fun to do, and the result is generally pretty interesting. In this case, I really like what came out as a finished product, out of only about 30 minutes of music writing. I call the end result “Kantoka,” and you can take a listen below:

Let me know what you think!
